The main suspects accused in the Daniel Muthiani murder case, known as Sniper, faced the Kiambu High Court today.

Vincent Murithi Kirimi, also known as Supuu O’mioro, and Murangiri Kenneth Guantai, alias Tali (Mwangaza’s brother), who were charged with murder, entered pleas of not guilty before Lady Justice Dorah Chepkwony.

Their court appearance comes after mental assessments confirmed their fitness to stand trial.

“Vincent Murithi Kirimi Alias Supuu O’mioro and Murangiri Kenneth Guantai Alias Tali were charged with murder contrary to Section 203 as read with Section 204 of the Penal Code (Cap. 63) after the mental assessments determined that they were both fit to stand trial,” a statement by the Office of The Director Of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) reads in parts.

“It is alleged that the accused persons, on diverse dates between 2nd December 2023 and 6th December 2023 at River Mutonga in Ciakariga Sub-County within Tharaka Nithi County, jointly with others not before court, murdered Daniel Muthiani Bernard Alias Sniper,” the ODPP added.

The judge instructed that both individuals be held in Industrial Area Remand Prison until the defense submits a bail application.
