Governor Lomorukai hosts Charlene Ruto for Zero Barefoot Initiative in Turkana County

Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai joined the Zero Barefoot Campaign team in Lochor Aikeny primary school in Turkana County where they distributed shoes, an patronised by Charlene Ruto.

The initiative strives to restore hope and confidence to school going children.

Governor Lomorukai acknowledged in his remarks the importance of the campaign for the welfare of children and urged other interested parties to assist this local cause.

Citing the two biggest issues facing Turkana’s educational institutions as poverty and insecurity, Governor Lomorukai pledged support from the team.

A youth champion, Ms. Charlene Ruto emphasised her dedication to supporting and advancing the work of young people.

She requested assistance in expanding the programme to all Turkana schools in order to guarantee respectable education.

Victor Kiprono, the originator of the Zero Barefoot Campaign and Environment, outlined their goals and emphasised that a mult-sectoral strategy involving both public and commercial players will expand the campaign.
