Formula One ace Lewis Hamilton is taking a vacation in Kenya.

According to Nairobi News, the seven-time world champion landed in Nairobi via private jet on Sunday.

It is anticipated that he would explore a number of regions in the country, including the Maasai Mara Reserve, where he will see the Great Wildebeest Migration this year.

The British superstar, who currently drives for Mercedes, was reportedly joined by close friends and family members.

Approximately 1.5 million wildebeests migrate from Tanzania’s Serengeti to Kenya’s Masai Mara during the great migration.

The wildebeests travel 800 kilometers to find greener grass and water.

In addition to his accomplishments on the Formula One track, Hamilton is a famous proponent of action to combat racism and promote greater diversity in racing.

He was named one of the world’s 100 most influential persons in the 2020 edition of Time and was knighted in the 2021 New Year’s Honours.

Last year, the seven-time Formula One world champion earned a knighthood at Windsor Castle, where he was included in the Queen’s Honours List. In doing so, he matched Michael Schumacher’s record of seven championships.

A knighthood is an accolade and title bestowed by a British king or queen in recognition of outstanding performance and service to their country in their respective field.

He is the most prominent athlete to visit Kenya in recent months.
