Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o and Hollywood stalwart Joshua Jackson sparked rumors of a blossoming romance when they were seen taking a romantic stroll together.
The recently formed pair was observed strolling together in Joshua Tree, California, on Tuesday, holding hands.
Both were casually dressed, with Nyong’o, aged 40, sporting yellow sweatpants and a white and green striped long-sleeve shirt bearing the message “It’s Okay to Cry.”
Meanwhile, Jackson, the 45-year-old Dawson’s Creek star, wore a gray beanie, a white crewneck, and black sweatpants.
Their walk suggested that they were delighting in each other’s presence, exchanging smiles as they walked alongside each other.
According to the People, their most recent public appearance occurred following their departure from Erewhon Market in Los Angeles on Monday. Additionally, they were observed outside a convenience store and traveling together in a Tesla.
In October, the duo was once again sighted attending a Janelle Monáe concert in Los Angeles alongside friends. On October 19, images shared by TMZ depicted the couple standing in close proximity to each other within the audience at the event.
Earlier that month, Jackson’s wife of more than three years, Jodie Turner-Smith, filed for divorce. She cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reasons for their separation.
A source told PEOPLE at the time it was Turner-Smith’s idea to end the relationship after she “decided she is done.”
”They are on very different paths in life,” the source shared, later adding, “It turned into an unhealthy marriage that made her unhappy.”
Jackson has chosen not to make any public statements regarding the divorce. The former couple shares a child named Juno Rose Diana Jackson, born in April 2020.
Regarding Nyong’o, the actress from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was previously romantically connected to Selema Masekea. Their relationship became public in December 2022, and Nyong’o’s most recent birthday tribute to Masekea, posted at the end of August, seems to have been removed from Instagram, according to a report by PEOPLE.
Nyong’o revealed the end of their relationship on Instagram on the very day that images of her at the Janelle Monáe concert surfaced.
In the lengthy post, she noted in part that she felt it “necessary for me to share a personal truth and publicly dissociate myself from someone I can no longer trust. I find myself in a season of heartbreak because of a love suddenly and devastatingly extinguished by deception.”
She continued, “I am reminded that the magnitude of the pain I am feeling is equal to the measure of my capacity for love. And so, I am choosing to face the pain, cultivating the courage to meet my life exactly as it is, and trusting that this too shall pass.”
