Boda Boda Operator Stabbed to Death by Wife Over Money Dispute in Ongata Rongai

A boda boda rider, Geoffrey Ouma, was reportedly killed by his wife on Sunday night in Ongata Rongai after coming home with lower earnings than usual.

Witnesses say Ouma, popularly called Jeff, had returned from work with much less income because heavy rains had slowed his business. His wife allegedly confronted him about the shortage of money for household expenses, insisting he give her more.

When Jeff couldn’t comply, a heated argument broke out. In a sudden outburst of anger, his wife ran to the kitchen, grabbed a knife, and charged at him.

Jeff tried to escape but slipped and fell. His wife then stabbed him twice in the chest, causing fatal injuries.

Neighbors rushed to the scene but found Jeff already dead. The couple, married for five years, had a child together.

Police in Ongata Rongai have arrested the wife as investigations continue into the tragic incident.

The community is deeply shaken by the unnecessary violence, sparking discussions about domestic abuse and financial pressures in households.
