In an emotional video posted on his Instagram, Veteran Afrobeats star 2Baba formerly known as 2Face Idibia has revealed that he and his wife, Annie, have been separated for some time and are now in the process of filing for divorce.

He confirmed that the initial breakup announcement was made by him and not due to any hacking incident.

He explained that earlier posts about the separation were removed by his management to manage the narrative, but he felt it was important to address his fans directly about the status of his marriage.

In the video, 2Face addressed his followers, saying, “Hello to my beautiful people of all federations. Annie and I have been separated for a while now and are currently filing for divorce. I will release a formal statement soon to share my side of the story. Not because anyone has the right to know about my personal life, but because I love my people and want them to understand my innocence or any wrongdoing. Stay blessed. Nobody hacked my account. I meant what I said.”

The couple, who had renewed their vows in March 2022 during their 10th anniversary in a lavish celebration, seemed to share a strong bond.

Their love story began in their teenage years, long before 2Face became famous, and they married in a high-profile ceremony in Dubai in 2013, becoming one of Nigeria’s most celebrated power couples. Despite their fairy-tale romance, their relationship faced numerous challenges over the years.

Together, they have two daughters, Isabella and Olivia, while 2Face also has five other children from previous relationships.

In his statement, 2Face hinted at an upcoming press conference where he intends to provide further details about the breakup.
