President William Ruto will head to France on Monday, June 15, 2026, for the G7 Summit, where he plans to represent Africa and push for global economic reforms that benefit the continent.

Speaking at a church service at Nkarusha Seventh Day Adventist Church in Kajiado County, Ruto described his attendance as a sign of Kenya’s rising global influence.

“Tomorrow I will go to represent Africa at the G7 meeting. We want to present the agenda of Africa and discuss how the resources, land, population and potential of this continent can be used to create prosperity for Africans,” he stated.

President Ruto defends his frequent international travel as essential to elevating Kenya’s role in global affairs.

He notes Kenya’s growing participation in major forums on trade, climate action, and economic transformation, positioning the nation as a leading African voice.

Despite public and opposition criticism over the cost and frequency of his trips, Ruto remains confident, stating that even close advisors have urged him to rest, but his priority is advancing Kenya’s global standing.

“Some people, out of love, are saying that I work too much and that I should take a holiday,” he said.
