In recent times, there has been a notable increase in incidents of child abduction in the County of Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA) in South Sudan.

This prompted the government to develop a strategy of paying people who report any incident to authorities to curb the crime.

John Lokoda purportedly misled the intoxicated father of Peter Julius, 12 years old, and Satuti Julius, 8 years old, convincing him to release the children with promises of a better life and free education in Jebel Boma.

The children who were kidnapped are believed to be residents of Lodwar in Turkana County.

Efforts are under way to unite the kids with their family.
