On Saturday, July 16, the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition, led by ODM leader Raila Odinga, traversed Nairobi county selling their agenda to the city electorate.
A disagreement broke out between Nairobi senatorial candidate Edwin Sifuna and blogger Robert Alai, who is running for the Kileleshwa MCA seat.
According to reports, the blogger was protesting Sifuna’s decision to deny him the opportunity to address the gathering.
As Martha Karua was speaking in the Gatina area of Dagoretti North constituency, the two leaders had a physical altercation before being separated.
“I am calling for order in this meeting, let everyone listen to the agenda our presidential candidate Raila Odinga is planning to do for Kenyans if elected as the next President in three weeks,’’ said Karua.
In video and photos, Alai is seen climbing a vehicle in which Sifuna and other Azimio leaders were standing before confronting him physically and forcing the ODM secretary general to defend himself.
The Opposition leader can be heard angrily calling Alai’s name, most likely to restrain him.
