Lodwar -Students of the Lodwar campus of Kenya Medical Training College demonstrated their big-heartedness today by taking part in the County’s blood donations drive at their campus ground where more than 50 pints of whole blood were realized.
Led by their student leaders and a host of volunteers from the Kenya Red Cross Society Lodwar field office, the participating students promised to continue spreading the message of voluntary non-renumerated blood donation to reach all their colleagues in the Lodwar and other campuses.

Edward Mutebi, the head of Lodwar Blood Transfusion satellite center said that the visit was part of the ongoing 500+ challenge which commenced during the World blood donor day that was marked on 14th June 2022 at the Lodwar County Referral Hospital.
Mr. Mutebi used the opportunity to award a former student of the campus with a recognition certificate from the Kenya National Blood Transfusion Service for being a regular donor during his time as a student.

The blood donation exercise comes at a time when the Countys’ director of communication John Emeripus has put up a public notice on the county’s official Facebook page calling on all those who donated during the World Blood Donor Day event to collect their blood donors card starting this Monday 20th June 2022.
The event was also attended by Roy Bett of the Kenya Red Cross Society.
