Google LLC has revealed its intention to raise the annual storage subscription fee, with the new pricing set to commence in December, increasing from Sh800 to Sh3,800.

As a result, expenses for acquiring additional storage for services like Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos, among others, will see an increase from Sh3,000.

“Google LLC is increasing the price of your subscription “Google One (200 GB)” from Ksh 3,000.00/year to Ksh 3,800.00/year starting on December 16, 2023,” Google said in a statement.

“You’ll automatically be charged the subscription price (plus any taxes) to the payment method provided until you cancel,” it added.

“Your price may change again as described in the Google Play Terms of Service. You can cancel at any time without additional charges and see upcoming charges in Subscriptions on Google Play.”

The technology company also let users know that the overall price includes taxes.
