Ateker TV Diamond Platnumz, a celebrated Tanzanian artist who has won numerous awards, unexpectedly made an appearance at the final Azimio la Umoja One Kenya campaign rally on Saturday after flying into Kenya.
Before and after Raila Odinga, the presidential candidate for the coalition party, spoke at the event, the Bongo superstar delivered a thrilling performance.
He opened the show by singing his 2019 hit “Baba Lao,” with the lyrics slightly modified to compliment Odinga and his running companion Martha Karua, he sang; “Martha Mama Lao, Raila Baba Lao…”
In addition, Diamond delivered a brief speech in front of Odinga, endorsing the frontman of Azimio’s bid for the presidency and urging Kenyans to cast their ballots for him in big numbers.
“Baba, nataka nikuambie vijana wanakuamini sana, nchi inakuamini sana na wewe ndio rais wetu unayefuata,” said the singer.
