Gerard Piqué and Shakira have announced their separation in a joint statement, after cheating allegations.
A statement released from the Public relations agency of Shakira has confirmed the separation:
“We regret to confirm that we are separating. For the well-being of our children, who are our top priority, we ask for respect for our privacy. Thank you for your understanding.”
The couple have been together for 11 years and had two children.
According to reports, Spanish daily newspaper El Periodico has published allegations made by video podcast Mamarazzis that claim that Pique “has been seen accompanied by other women” and that he has “been living alone for weeks in his old apartment”.
Pique is said to have started frequenting nightclubs with his Barcelona teammate Riqui Puig and returning to his bachelor pad in the wee hours of the night.
Shakira and the Barcelona centre-back started dating in 2010.
The waka waka hitmaker reportedly wants to move to another country.
