2020 is a year of many blessings as many had hoped. The year is still young and many incidents have occurred already, from former President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi to kakamega 14 pupils who lost their lives days ago and the famous Amboseli big Tusker Elephant Tim.
At the shores of lake Turkana, Marrion Waweru, a young mother lost life to an attack by a crocodile yesterday evening.
Marrion who was a trainer in a meeting for County supply chain organised by world food program was in company of three of her trainees when the tragedy occurred.
The trio were enjoying the warm and relaxing feeling of the lake water after along day event. When the the attack happened. The two gentlemen watched helplessly as their trainer was being dragged to the deep waters only for some parts of the body to be discovered today at the shores of the lake.
Turkana County women representative Joyce Emanikor is among the leaders who have sent messages of condolences to the family.
”I call upon the Government through KWS to track and hunt down the killer crocodile in Eliye so that the residents and visitors can live without fear of attacks.”
”Meanwhile I send my condolences to the family of the victim of yesterday’s crocodile attack. This isolated case cannot be used to create fear or deter holiday makers in Eliye Springs.”
”It was an accident that we are very sorry about. Eliye will continue as a holiday destination for the region. It has the best virgin beaches, unpolluted, undegraded and secure,” Says Hon. Joyce Emanikor, Women Representative.
