A police officer manning KCSE examinations at Kimulot Secondary School in Bomet County is on the run after being caught on CCTV ransacking female invigilators’ handbags.

The officer allegedly entered a room where the invigilators were keeping their belongings, including phones and other valuables, and ransacked the bags, according to county police commandant Mathews Mangira.

“One of the victims reported that she lost a hundred shillings, another lost nine hundred, while the other three hundred shillings, which prompted them to consult with the school administration to review the CCTV camera” added Mr Mangira.

The officer was seen in the video entering the room and sitting in between some handbags, searching them one by one before leaving.

Three of the invigilators have since recorded statements with the police claiming that they lost money after the incident.
