NTV senior investigative journalist Dennis Okari is the latest victim of the ongoing retrenchment at Nation Media Group.

Okari took to social media to say goodbye to his fans and viewers as his time at NTV comes to an end.

“My assignment at NTV has come to an end. I’m grateful to God for the opportunity to serve. I gave it my all. But I could not have of done it without the help of an incredible team. I hope they continue to shine. It’s time to move to something bigger and greater than myself,” Dennis Okari wrote.

This comes days after his colleague Mark Masai was also fired by NTV after 14 years, this is in an effort to reduce its cost.

Mr. Masai is arguably one of Kenya’s best news anchors, with a keen understanding of current issues and political trends.

He took to social media and shared a short video of his moments on air since his debut in 2008.

“NTV Kenya is a great team! These are different times. Was a great show. Time for short a commercial break. I’ll be back! #FadeToBlack #StayTuned,” read a tweet from Mark Masai.
