This comes days after his colleague Mark Masai was also fired by NTV after 14 years, this is in an effort to reduce its cost.

Mr. Masai is arguably one of Kenya’s best news anchors, with a keen understanding of current issues and political trends.

He took to social media and shared a short video of his moments on air since his debut in 2008.

“NTV Kenya is a great team! These are different times. Was a great show. Time for short a commercial break. I’ll be back! #FadeToBlack #StayTuned,” read a tweet from Mark Masai.
