The missing Embakasi East returning officer has been found dead in Oloitoktok, Kajiado County. Daniel Mbolu Musyoka went missing on August 11.
On Monday evening, police officers in Loitoktok, Kajiado South sub-county, were notified to the discovery of a middle-aged man’s body in the forest.
According to Loitok tok police chief Kipruto Ruto, the body was identified at the Loitokitok sub-county mortuary by his sisters Mary Mwikali and Ann Mboya.
“His two sisters identified the body lying at Loitoktok sub county hospital last night. We are waiting communication from police headquarters either to ferry the body to city mortuary or to remain here,” Mr Ruto said.
Mr Musyoka, 53, was the returning officer at Nairobi county’s Embakasi East polling station.
Herders discovered the middle-aged male body in Kilombero forest, at the foot of Mt Kilimanjaro, early on Monday, according to Mr Ruto.
The victim’s body had visible evidence of struggle and torture.
